In 2020, NANTET Locabennes was chosen to handle the collection and management of waste for the construction project of a BREEAM-certified holiday residence spanning nearly 40,000 sqm in Tarentaise.

Construction of this new hotel residence, located at an altitude of 2,000 meters, took 18 months and generated more than 2,000 metric tons of waste.
During the 8-month construction phase, 6 cranes were set up on site, with 3 crane-loadable multi-bin containers at the base of each one for general industrial waste, wood, and scrap metal. The various containers were emptied using a crane truck equipped with a grapple to minimize the number of skip exchanges. Upon completion of the project, a study confirmed that this method had indeed reduced the number of rotations by one-third, resulting in a significantly lower environmental impact.

When the fit-out phase began, lasting 10 months, it was decided in agreement with the client to set up a mini-recycling center next to the construction site to optimize and properly manage the waste flow, as numerous trades were working simultaneously. The designated area was equipped with 8 roll-off skips of 15m3 (CIBW, wood A, wood B, plasterboard, cardboard, rubble, scrap metal) and containers for storing hazardous waste. The sorting officer dispatched on-site from Monday to Friday was responsible for guiding workers who wanted to dispose of their waste to the correct containers. To limit the carbon footprint, a truck equipped with a grapple and onboard weighing system was used to empty the skips and transport the waste for recovery at our Petit-Cœur sorting center (La Léchère).

At the end of the project, the client was very satisfied: the overall recovery rate for the project was 93%, savings had been achieved thanks to the mini-recycling center, and lastly, the construction site area was well maintained.
